The Inflatable House on Tumblr

November 4th, 2010 in Design, Tools

The Inflatable House was initially a podcast and blog set up for myself and a friend to host mixes and our music related posts, but after a few months our attention drifted to other projects and the podcast laid dormant. A few months ago I came up with an idea for a notice board for people to post music to, a place where people could shout about their new favourite record – the idea came at the time as I wanted to further explore Tumblr.

The Gambia Partnership

October 12th, 2010 in Design

The Gambia Partnership originally wanted me to update their existing website – but the website wasn’t in the best shape, so I suggested a redesign and fresh build. After reading an article on the Web Design Depot last year I knew their existing content would have to be worked into a very specific form to help gain the visitors attention, to quickly get across their message and then to ask for a donation.

Debra Orton Illustration

October 10th, 2010 in Design

Debra Orton, and her husband Adam, approached me to design and build them a website to promote – and to sell, a new collection of fine art prints by Debra. The subject of the illustrations is close to my heart so I was very excited by the project – the prints are based on Football stadiums and their surrounding areas, featuring landmarks that are close to the hearts of loyal supporters.

CopyJim.com is copywriter James Wade and he wanted a website to promote his services, and an additional blog make regular posts for existing and potential clients to read. The site was built in WordPress using a custom theme. I’ve previously been starting off with the pre-installed default theme – but recently I’ve switched to using Starkers by Elliott Jay Stocks as a starting point.

Color Stream iPhone App

September 5th, 2010 in Design, Tools

I’ve been playing with the free version of Peppermint on the iPhone for a while to create colour palettes and it’s been pretty good, but now there’s a new app called Color Stream and it’s really very good. The app is very simple to use, there’s three different options to create a palette.

Homescreen.me

August 27th, 2010 in Design, Social Networking

Homescreen.me is a new website I’ve just signed up to, it’s currently in beta at the moment and invite only. You upload a capture of a screen from either your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and include a description – it’s a nice way to share your current set of favourite or most used apps.

iPhone App Idea

August 7th, 2010 in Design, Tools

So, I had an idea and I’m not sure what to do with it. I’m not sure I have the time to learn how to make an iPhone app, let alone build it and the market it properly when it’s finished. So I thought I’d turn my idea into a blog post, and if anyone reading this thinks it’s a good idea – then maybe you can take up the project.

Dave Bond Personal Training Website

July 6th, 2010 in Design

Dave Bond already had a web presence when he asked me to redesign his aging website, he had begun to explore social media and had set up Twitter and Facebook accounts to promote his personal training services, but his website was falling behind in getting across his message. Dave had lots of ideas about content for the site and how it would be kept up to date, with new content being added all the time in the form of articles he had written or sourced.

RubyFruit Website

May 12th, 2010 in Design

A website that I’ve been working on for quite some time went online earlier this week. I was initally contacted in October last year by RubyFruit, a company that produces a range of jewellery for babies and children. They initially wanted their website in a hurry – built in time for Christmas – this was [...]
